The Painter

                                                            Self-Portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci

Before we start to explore the secrets and depths of the painting, we must learn a little bit about the painter. Leonardo Da Vinci, born in Italy, is famous for his paintings, the 'Mona Lisa' and 'The Last Supper.

He was a very cheeky painter who liked to hide hidden messages through the use of symbols in his artworks. He enjoyed questioning the church.

But he was not only a painter. He was a sculptor, architect, musician, scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, geologist, cartographer, botanist, writer and a painter. He conceptualized the helicopter, tank, solar power and the calculator. He started more than 300 inventions that he had, sadly, never actually ended up finishing.
